Elena and Raphael the Archangel of New York

Raphael

Raphael

The Guild Hunter Series by Nalini Singh

“Do you think you have the right to give me orders now?”
The Archangel of New York, a creature so lethal that part of her feared him even now, lifted the hair off her nape, brushed his lips across her skin. “Of course. You are mine.” No hint of humor, nothing but stark possession.
“I don’t think you’ve quite got the hang of this true love thing.” – Nalini Singh, Angels’ Blood

Elena

Elena

Elena is definitely out of Raphael’s league. She’s a Guild Hunter with a hazy past and nothing to tie her down. Raphael is an Archangel, one of the most strongest and terrifying beings in the entire world – and he falls for her. It’s the Cinderella fairytale. Tall, super macho (but suave, verrry suave) hero (with wings) and the beautiful blonde girl with the poor parenting and a sad death in the family. Well, not really. There’s lots of time to get to know one another over death, mayhem and crazy psycho killer Archangels. Elena not only kicks vampire ass but also makes Raphael feel again for first time in thousands of years. All Raphael needs to do is stand there and brood. Easy.

Justine Jones and Packard

Packard

Packard

The Disillusionists series by Carolyn Crane

“I got it right Justine. Feel into it. Your sense of being a misfit blinds you to what your heart really wants. When you get around solid upstanding men you’re like a bird with tinfoil. It makes you incoherent on a romantic level.”
“My affection is incoherent unless it’s for you. That’s the line you’re giving me here? ”
“This is real.” He points out the door. “That isn’t.” ― Carolyn Crane, Mind Games

Justine

Justine

This couple, nay this series, is an undiscovered goldmine of genuine hilarity. Justine is perhaps the most unique character ever written within a romance. Packard is a handsome maniac trapped in a building and she is the clever, intuitive vixen who wants to get him out of there. Justine is also a hypochondriac who believes that a blood vessel is about to burst in her brain and Packard is just about the only hot guy in town who doesn’t think that she’s crazy. Because she isn’t – she’s special, just like him. They are Disillusionists and solve crime by using their own neurosis to install fear in people. This couple are laugh out loud funny (and sexy, don’t forget sexy).

Anya, Goddess of Anarchy and Lucien

Lucien

Lucien

The Darkest Kiss (Lords of the Underworld 2) by Gena Showalter

“Enjoy,” she muttered with relish. Anya flashed one more time, back to where she’d begun: his home in Greece. Lucien was still following her trail. Lightning quick, she hid the chains under the bed and palmed her Taser.
When she straightened he was there, just in front of her. Her breath caught. He was scowling, teeth bared and sharp, Death glowing in his eyes. He had a bleeding cut on his leg and he smelled like shit.
Her nose wrinkled. “Step in something?” she asked innocently.
“That I did not mind.” He took a menacing step toward her. “What I did mind was being hit by a cab, then landing on the lap of a naked man. With an erection, Anya. He had an erection.”

Anya

Anya

Anya is just what the doctor ordered when it comes to Lucien. He’s a scarred shell of his former self as he struggles with his job escorting human souls to either heaven or hell. Focused and serious, he’s a relentless warrior in need of a little RNR. Anya though is a wee bit different – she needs to get serious. Honestly, this girl is the shit. She’s a prankster, unafraid of the big bad Lords of the Underworld. Anya will flip her enemies the bird as she laughs evilly over something pretty she’s about to steal. They fulfil the noticeable lack in one another’s lives beautifully and their journey to get there is a crazy roller coaster ride that really heats this series up a notch.

Merit and Ethan Sullivan

Ethan

Ethan

The Chicagoland Vampires Series by Chloe Neill

“You cannot seriously think you’re going to fight this guy. […] Hell, he can probably glamour you into making out with him right there on the mats.”
We simultaneously looked over to where Ethan, half naked, was toeing off his black leather loafers. The muscles in his abdomen clenched as he moved. So did the lines of corded muscle across his shoulders.
God, but he was beautiful.
I narrowed my gaze.
Beautiful but evil. Wicked. The repugnant dregs of foul malevolence. Or something.
“Jesus,” Mallory whispered. “I want to support your quest for revenge and all, but maybe you should just let him glamour you.” – Chloe Neill, Some Girls Bite

Merit

Merit

Merit and Ethan have a troublesome history with a lot of angst, heartbreak and a will they, wont they story of epic proportions. Merit is a newly made vampire, but it was done against her will so she’s not a happy lady. Standing as a fierce Sentinel for her Vampire House, she protects them from outside forces with her super fighting skills and acerbic wit. Mr Fancy-pants Ethan is the big guy in charge and at four-hundred years her senior he has had plenty of time to practice his charm. He arrogantly suits up everyday and enjoys taunting his Sentinel with secret looks of longing and witty sarcasm. This couple makes you over obsess over everything. Every double entendre, every touch – and there are seven books and counting to obsess over.

Lucia the Huntress and Garreth MacRieve

Garreth

Garreth

Pleasure of a Dark Prince (Immortals After Dark 9) by Kresley Cole

“At fifty times the distance, you dispatched that ko-bold with three arrows to the neck. I’ve earned a trio to the chest. Seems you slapped him while you’re tickling me. You doona want to kill me, which is a good sign. Maybe this is your way of flirting?”

Lucia

Lucia

Lucia is a stubborn bow wielding Valkyrie and Garreth a brash Scottish Lykae Prince. They have been on the opposite side of a supernatural war for a long time, so their mutual attraction is a surprise to them both.  Lucia or “Loushaaa!” as Garreth cries out when she chucks a log at his head, spends most of her time trying to lose him in South America as she hunts for a golden arrow. This couple are so darn funny it’s not fair. Garreth knew Lucia was his mate as soon as he saw her and he intends to make his lass see the same way. Lucia’s backstory is pretty emotional so remember to pack the Kleenex!

Cat and Bones

Bones

Bones

The Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost read book review

“You called her Kitten? And she let you? She put me in a coma for three days when I called her that? My balls never recovered from her smashing them into my spine?” “And well she should have,” Bones agreed. “She’s my Kitten, and no one else’s.” – Jeaniene Frost, One Foot in the Grave

Cat

Cat

Cat and Bones go together like bangers and mash. Simples. Cat is a sassy vampire hunter with a penchant for getting into trouble and Bones is her devoted vampire boyfriend who helps her out of said trouble (with bells on his toes). Bones is sexy, quirky and can carry off a blonde dye job with aplomb, whereas when we first meet Cat she is friendless and weird. But now she’s a foxy redhead so it all evens out. Cat and Bones are very protective over their respective turfs. Cat is not above a little ass grabbing to get her point across to other women and Bones threatens the crown jewels of every man who looks at his Kitten a second longer than they should. So sweet!

Sienna Lauren and Hawke

Hawke

Hawke

Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling 10) by Nalini Singh

“No use worrying about the big, bad wolf now.”
She was aware of Judd speaking, but her attention never shifted off the man who was a predator, for all that he wore human skin. When he peeled open and held out a bar of some kind, she took it, aware low energy levels could be dangerous when it came to her ability to keep a handle on the cold fire.
“Thank you.”
A faint smile, a strange amusement in those icy eyes. “You’re welcome.”
It was the most polite interaction they’d ever had.”

Sienna

Sienna

This couple is explosive, even Nalini’s purple prose cannot contain the heat between the Snow Dancer Wolf Alpha and the Cardinal X Psy. Hawke is an arrogant, sexy wolf and likes to call Sienna ‘baby’. A lot. Whereas Sienna is a fiery mamma with a big heart and a yearning for family – and pack. There are a lot of reasons why this couple shouldn’t be together, Sienna is nineteen for one thing and Hawke’s prospective mate died when he was a child- which means no mating bond. Even the fact that no X Psy has lived past twenty-five years of age doesn’t stop them from getting… close – the sexual tension between them is too hot!

Mackayla Lane and Jericho Barrons

Barrons

Barrons

The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning

He pulls me around and kisses me. “You’re Mac,” he says. “And I’m Jericho. And nothing else matters. Never will. You exist in a place that is beyond all rules for me. Do you understand that?”

I do. Jericho Barrons just told me he loves me. – Karen Marie Moning, Shadowfever

Mac

Mac

Every time I see this quote it makes me shiver all inside. Brrrrr… This is the alpha of all alpha couples. They are hot, they kick unseelie ass and they are just as awesome apart as they are together. It’s doubtful whether there is anything this couple cannot do. Though… it does take them a while to get to this point. Five books in fact. Any longer and the author would have had a riot on her hands. Mac starts out as an all American sweetheart and ends up wearing black leather and spouting a new ‘fecking’ vocabulary. She has spunk, sex appeal as well as the spear of destiny – and isn’t afraid to use them. On the other hand, Barrons is one of the biggest enigmas in urban fantasy land. No one knows what he is and he ain’t telling either. Tall, dark and intense, he’s about action rather than words. And boy, do his actions keep readers pining for him.

Zarya Starska and Darling Cruel (Kere)

Zeres

Zeres

Born of Silence (The League 5) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

“In all my life, I have only had one haven that sheltered me from my hell. One woman whose smile made me fly even after I’d hit the ground so hard that I didn’t think I could ever stand again. There is nothing in this universe that could destroy me, except you, Zarya. You have taken a monster and made him human. My wounded soul was healed because of your smile. So long as I live and even beyond this life, I am and will always be ever yours.”

Zarya

Zarya

Ms. Kenyon writes some of the most intense characters in paranormal fiction and these two are no different. Kere’s story is heartbreaking and I dare you to not want to hold him against your breast murmuring, ‘there now dear.’ This is no fluffy romance and not for the faint hearted either. A science fiction romance, Zarya and Kere are resistance fighters, in love and planning a future together. But he has a secret about who he really is and this backfires on him badly when Zarya unknowingly sent him off to be tortured. Oopsie. His family are the Cruels, the evil despots ruling the Empire and the tyranny Zarya is fighting against. These characters are beautiful together – strong, courageous and loving despite the odds, they can kick some serious ass.

Regan Cooper and Thanatos

Thantos

Thantos

Lethal Rider (Lords of Deliverance 3) by Larissa Ione

“Here’s how this goes. No Guardians. I don’t trust any of them, including you. You can have as much ice cream as you want. I doubt I’ll stop ordering you around.” He turned his face away and put his lips to her ear. “And you don’t get your own bedroom. You sleep here. With me.

Regan

Regan

Thanatos is a Horseman of the Apocalypse. He is deadly, doesn’t like the company of others and lost his virginity to Regan Cooper, a demon slaying Aegis Guardian. Whoopsie – he was not meant to do that. Poor Regan has to spend an entire book pregnant. Not to mention the fact that she is not a child friendly kinda demon slayer. Not really. They are both a pair of tough nuts who want the same thing – love, affection and family. It makes them vulnerable to one another and the romance is really very sweet. This couple sends readers all over the place with their dizzying emotions – anger, betrayal, joy, squeeing, more anger and a hint of more betrayal. They’re exhausting, but it’s all worth it in the end.

Kate Daniels and Curran the Beast Lord

Curran

Curran

The Kate Daniels Series by IIona Andrews

I leaned back. “‘Can I fetch your food, Your Majesty? Can I tell you how strong and mighty you are, Your Majesty? Can I pick your fleas, Your Majesty? Can I kiss your ass, Your Majesty? Can I…” It dawned on me that Raphael was sitting very still. Frozen, like a statue, his gaze fixed on the point above my head. “He’s standing behind me, isn’t he?” Andrea nodded slowly.
“Technically it should be ‘may I’,” Curran said, his voice deeper than I remembered. “Since you’re asking for permission.” Why me? “To answer your question, yes, you may kiss my ass. Normally I prefer maintain my personal space, but you’re a Friend of the Pack and your services have proven useful once or twice. I strive to accommodate the wishes of persons friendly to my people. My only question is, would kissing my ass be obeisance, grooming, or foreplay?” – IIona Andrews, Magic Strikes

Kate

Kate

Not only are Kate and Curran the hottest dystopian urban fantasy couple out there, but they fight together back to back as equal partners. Kate has a magical sword called Slayer and Curran will make you pee your pants with that one roar. They are a truly terrifying (and sexy) couple. Curran is a big blonde beastie and as a lion shifter he truly is king of the jungle – he even has a castle to prove it. His unique courting technique is hilarious, he knows how to woo his lady love. Kate is a renegade tough chick with a scary parentage and a sharp tongue. They are purrrrfect together.

****************************************************************************

Elizabeth and Lothaire, The Enemy of Old

Lothaire

Lothaire

Lothaire (Immortals After Dark 12) by Kresley Cole

As Lothaire lifted the lid with a sense of dread, Nïx murmured, “Hint: it’s the middle one.”
Elizabeth’s fragile finger. Seeing it severed like this brought on a visceral reaction—pain shooting through his own hand, radiating throughout his regenerated heart. He closed the lid with a swallow, sentimentally pocketing the package.
“You gave her your heart, and she gave you the bird.” Nïx sighed. “Songs will be written about this.”

Ellie

Ellie

The strangest pairing in the whole of Christendom. Lothaire and Elizabeth couldn’t be more different if they tried. Lothaire is a vain, sarcastic, brutally violent vampire with no scruples. Elizabeth aka Ellie is a pretty hillbilly on death row for a murder committed by a goddess who possessed her body. A truly laugh out loud funny couple, they are delicious together – truly exciting. He’s no hero, and frankly the vamp doesn’t give a damn. Lothaire cares too much about his Endgame and the little black book of names owing a debt to him. Ellie cares though and she is the only spitfire, loyal and loving enough to bring him to his knees.

****************************************************************************

Cyn Leighton and Raphael

Raphael

Raphael

The Vampires in America Series by D.B. Reynolds

Cynthia stared at the beautiful male specimen in front of her. Vampire or not, Raphael was fully, gloriously male. There was no doubt of that. Nor of the instant, almost irresistible, attraction she felt toward him. She gave a nearly desperate, sobbing laugh at her own helpless reaction to him. Behind him, Duncan gave her a scandalized look, but Raphael merely laughed with her. He was an arrogant son of a bitch; he understood perfectly. – D.B. Reynolds, Raphael

Cyn

Cyn

Only because this series has some pretty corny covers doesn’t mean you should bypass them – oh no… Cyn and Raphael are one smouldering hot couple. A good crime busting series – there’s no he’s the one or purple prose here. No way. Cyn is a tough nut PI with a fast trigger finger and a nice selection of designer leather apparel. Raphael is the strongest Vampire Lord in America, dark, mysterious and untouchable. He’s an old fashioned vamp and proud of it – tender feelings and emotional outbursts be damned! Cyn is his fiesty human girlfriend, strong, complex and clever. It’s easy to see why Raphael has his fangs in a twist about her.

Tabitha and Valerius

Valerius

Valerius

Seize the Night (Dark-Hunter 7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

“It’s noon, Valerius. We both should be asleep?” Acheron paused. “Where are you anyways?”
“I don’t know,” Valerius said. “I hear some godawful kind of music from outside, horns blaring, and I’m in a house with a mohawk cuckoo bird, a transvestite, and a knife-wielding lunatic.”
“Why are you at Tabitha’s?” Acheron asked.
“Excuse me?”
“Relax,” Acheron said with a yawn. “You’re in good hands. Tabby won’t hurt you.”
“She stabbed me!”
“Damn,” Ash said. “I told her not to stab any more Hunters. I hate it when she does that.”

Tabitha

Tabitha

Valerius is an Armani wearing, old fashioned, stiff upper lip immortal warrior from ancient Rome. Tabitha is from New Orleans, owns a slutty underwear shop, is a part-time vampire hunter and lives for the moment. A redheaded free spirit, Valerius’ cold demeanor is a challenge to the feisty lady. They are perfect together – just perfect! This pair are like yin and yang – but sexier and with leather. Valerius is treated like an outcast among his own kind and Tabitha won’t stand for it any more. She fights to get past his hard shell exterior to the yummy gooey centre and boy! is it worth the trouble. Any man who doesn’t blink while escorting a transvestite in his/her hour of need is definitely a keeper.
