Mad news about kilt wearing romance heroes… swoon

This little nugget of news came from my mum – thanks mummy dearest, you are truly awesome in your mad investigatory skillz!

If you enjoy any of the following: kilts, epic time-travel adventures, men called Jamie or practicing herbology – prepare yourself for some mouth-watering news…

(I sincerely apologise if you’ve no idea what the heck I’m going on about. I offer my condolences because it means that you probably haven’t come across the epic awesomeness that is Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series. More historical romance saga than anything else – it takes me back to my pre-paranormal reading life when I had an unhealthy relationship with men in kilts.)

So hold on to your god darn hat cause…

Jamie and Claire will be coming to a TV screen near you in 2014.

Plus it’s being filmed in Scotland.

I think I just suffered a minor seizure.

That is all.

      • I’m quite enjoying it, but I’m just not much of an “oral learner,” so I have to keep going back and re-listening. But it’s kind of a cool discipline for me. I would definitely give it a try, especially if you’ve already read it.

      • Oops .. this is a very long book, not quite there yet. I never thought of the cringey idea of listening to happy times. Oops again. How about listening to some nice Georgette Heyer … ? 🙂

  1. Hii! *waves* Condolences accepted dear-or maybe I should duck behind a huge tree while you throw rocks at me?- I haven’t read the Outlander series, buuut I was just telling my sis that I will do, one of these days. God, it feels good to get that off my chest lol! Before I run, I wanna say yay! And by the way, I love men in kilts! 🙂

    • Rocks!?! I’m more of a lover than a fighter, so I would probably throw you Jamie – that should encourage you to get from behind the tree and to the nearest bookshop (or hotel… ;)) book one to three are fab and then it gets a bit hazy (for me) cause they’re so darn long….

  2. Oh goodie! I always prefer when men are thrown at me anyway 😀 I saw the books in a secondhand bookshop the other day but I had no idea which was first so I had to walk out of there-it was painful, I feel a bit emptier every time I leave a bookstore without buying anything.

  3. Let me just say that I have seen/read verra many posts regarding the news that Outlander is finally getting on screen, but yours is the only one that truly made me laugh at the sheer delight and fun of the whole wonderful, crazy, MIK-obsessed, stalker-y Gabaldon fan excitement of it! It’s interesting how many romance readers have a Jamie Fraser and/or kilt obsession in their past — and yet an almost equal number either haven’t read Gabaldon or aren’t interested. I’m a fan, though it’s been a long time since I read them, and the last one was a bit of a disappointment. The series overall was one of the most immersive reading experiences I’ve ever had – so there’s a part of me very unsure about whether I want to adulterate it with watching — or listening, for that matter…. I’ve never been able to “do” audiobooks, either.
